Animation

Back into Nov 2015 when I was commissioned to write a piece for an image “Street through the Glass Ball”, my grandma passed away a few days after her diagnosis of heart disease. It all happened so suddenly, and by the time I realised and tried to do something for my grandma, she had already gone. It was so difficult to compose, and I mainly filled the piece with dull long notes. When I looked at the image of the Glassball, the fragile, transparent, elusive and vulnerable nature of it seems like a perfect container of memories. For me, the image and the commissioned piece became an irony. I later made this hand-drawn animation on top of the music I had composed to express and document my complex feeling.
